ImprovisAsian NOT just for Asians (25/03/2012)"Interest grows for ImprovisAsian skills"
As the marketplace and schools become more competitive, and comparison is based on quantitative results, more non-Asians are adopting the previously traditional path of technical tuition and financial heavy courses. However, the adoption of the the same techniques which have created number based forerunners has also created the same lack of creative skills. This has raised demand for the ImprovisAsian programme to be taught to others of different cultures. "We've had a number of teachers ask us to implement the programme into their classes to benefit not just Asian students, but those of other backgrounds too", states Mr Ivan Chew, Principal of ImprovisAsian. "However, the main concern from them are that the branding seems to catering for Asians only, and so, to answer that, we've created the IMPROTAGONIST programme as part of our anniversary of ImprovisAsian. It teaches the same skills but the programme has been tweaked to be less Asian-centric. We're looking forward to helping the wider community with their growing creativity and leadership skills." ImprovisAsian has quickly grown from coaching Asian children and professionals, to teaching the same skills to others, contextualising content where appropriate depending on the students environment and workplace. ### If you'd like more information about this topic, or to enquire about the courses, please e-mail info@improvisasian.com |
ImprovisAsian Launches (15/03/2011)"Programme to create the all-rounder Asian leader"
Newly immigrated Asian families, children or employees tend to concentrate on quantitative subjects and deliverables. Studies have shown that the concentration of these measures of success have stifled the creativity element of the subjects, and thus minimises the chance of innovation and risk management. According to the Principal of ImprovisAsian, Ivan Chew, the lack of those skills not only handicaps the individual in leadership and growth, but also devalues them in their workplace. "By promoting the analytical skills over the creative ones, people tend find it harder to take risks, handle possible failure and shortchanges themselves, " said Mr Chew. "Without creative freedom, personal and workplace development ultimately becomes stagnant - not inventing, not growing, not being the leader in the field." Founded in 2011, ImprovisAsian is an organisation delivering programs to two distinct groups of Asian children aged between 11 and 13 years of age, and Asian professionals looking to increase their leadership skills to advance in their career and workplace value. Previous commissions have been with a number of private groups including charities, and commercial organisations. ### If you'd like more information about this topic, or to schedule an interview with Mr Ivan Chew, please e-mail info@improvisasian.com |
